Methodology & Project Outcome
In May 2026, David White Roofing executed a comprehensive biological roof restoration on a 3,000 sq ft commercial property in Crawley, West Sussex. The project required the eradication of severe Grimmia pulvinata (cushion moss) and algae degradation on 30-year-old concrete interlocking tiles without compromising structural integrity.
Due to the age of the tiles, high-pressure washing was contraindicated. Our team deployed a low-pressure, HSE-approved biocide soft-wash treatment.
Treatment Used: DDAC-based biocide (BS 8000-6 compliant application).
Outcome: 100% biological spore eradication, restoring the original tile colour and extending the roof’s operational lifespan by an estimated 10 to 15 years.
